Day-to-day of the role: Design and develop marine shaft line components and propellers.
Create detailed designs primarily in 2D, with some 3D CAD work under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.
Establish requirements with customers and collaborate closely with the Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing teams.
Ensure designs meet both internal standards and external regulatory compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, with essential experience in AutoCAD and desirable experience in SolidWorks.
Proven experience providing technical solutions to design challenges.
Confidence in managing projects of varying size, timeframe, and complexity.
Experience in the design of components and assemblies, with a preference for those in the marine industry.
Knowledge of design for manufacture and familiarity with the production environment.
Familiarity with design codes, classification rules, and regulations.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Strong mathematical and numerical skills.
Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey design information effectively.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Design Engineer, preferably in the marine industry.
