Job summary Here at Wincobank Medical Centre, we have 2 exciting opportunities to work within out friendly Reception Team.Firstly we are looking for someone to join our Reception team on a permanent basis, working 26 hours per week.Secondly we are looking for someone to join our Reception team on a temporary basis, working 26 hours per week until January 2026 covering maternity leave.The role of a Receptionist can at times be very demanding, so we are looking for someone who is confident, has excellent communication skills, is organised and good at multitasking.Experience is General Practice or NHS work is desirable but not essentail as training will be given.
Main duties of the job Open and close surgery premisses, including checking and securing the premises at the end of the dayDirect patients on their arrivalProcess requests for repeat prescription, ready to be checked by a GPPass on visit requestsDeal with all general enquiries face to face at the front desk and over the phoneExplain the surgeries proceduresMake new and follow up appointmentsReceive and pass on relevant messages to clinical and managerial staffEnsure all urgent and non urgent tasks are completed in a timely manner About us Our mission statement is to offer high-quality equitable sustainable community based health care.Our Reception team, Admin team, Management and Clinical staff may offer appointments with one of several types of healthcare workers within our practice, or within our network; such as Physiotherapists, Mental Health Workers and Link Workers.
