This will include working morning and eveningshifts on rotation.

Our reception team are very enthusiastic, supportive, highly motivated and works well as a team.
Our Practice consists of 2 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 Practice Manager, 1 Nurse, 1 Health Care Assistant, 1 Reception Manager, 2 Medical Secretaries, 3 Medical Summarizers and 4 receptionists.
Job description Job responsibilities The purpose of the role is to: Offer general assistance to thepractice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and othervisitors, either in person or via the telephone Receive, assist and direct patientsin accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,efficient and effective way Undertake a variety of administrativeduties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provisionof secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of thepractice team Facilitate effective communicationbetween patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care andother associated healthcare agencies Duties and responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities to beundertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any orall of the items in the following list.
Duties may be varied from time to timeunder the direction of the senior receptionist/practice manager, dependent oncurrent and evolving practice workload and staffing levels: Greeting patientsOpening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining securityPrinting blood forms.Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services)Picking up calls from patients and other services, hospitals.Assisting doctors and patient with queries.Liaising with hospitals and pharmacySubmitting e-consult litesProcessing e-consults and e-consult litesTriaging patients to the appropriate services available.Completing tasks from cliniciansScanning and filling clinical/admin letters.Processing incoming post and emailsForwarding prescriptions to the doctors.Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately.Process samples received from patients following urine protocol.Process referrals on a day-to-day basis ensuring they go to the correct service.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
Basic IT skills with experience of working with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft word Desirable Previous work experience in General Practice using EMIS and Docman Experience Essential Previous experience in dealing with the public such as a receptionist or admin role.
