JOB DESCRIPTION: The Real Estate Investment Banking Analyst will support Debt and Structured Finance but also work on M&A advisory/ equity raising transactions.
The candidate will gain broad exposure to all transaction phases including underwriting & financial modeling, market research, preparation of financing materials, lender discussions, term sheet negotiations, and the deal closing process.
The candidate should be hard working, detail oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Support transaction execution including due diligence, document preparation, and liaising with relevant counterparts at the client/other advisers (accounting, legal, etc.)
Monitor and evaluate current events, valuations, and other financial information on the clients of the group.
Contribute to the origination process for certain sector verticals.
Build and use financial models and assist in completing valuation and analytical exercises.
Help prepare presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, Memorandums, and other presentation materials for use in M&A and capital markets transactions or strategic client dialogue.
Collaborate with team members and provide support as needed.
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years' experience in a financial analysis role within commercial real estate, debt advisory, or corporate finance/ investment banking Bachelor's degree or MBA Excellent communication and project management skills Proficient technical ability and overall corporate finance proficiency, including strong modelling skills (LBO, DCF, DDM) as well as knowledge of real estate investment banking products Ability to engage in client and investors communications, as well as dealing with clients and other advisers Ability to take ownership across a transaction Ability to show initiative and support across several transactions in parallel, managing time appropriately across competing demands WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elements NOTE: The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
