Job Position:Quality Systems Manager Department: Technical Reports to:Head of TechnicalHours:40 hours per week (Mon Fri) Scope of Role Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Morrisons and Waitrose in the UK.
The Quality Systems Manager will report to the Head of Technical and be part of the established Technical team.
They will support the department to ensure the safe operation of all products at every stage of production.
This role is at Middle Management level in the organisation.
Key Responsibilities Manage the Compliance Technologist Team Review and update customer gap analysis to meet customer standards Compliance training Be actively involved in all customer visits / audits Manage audits as per audit schedule for all customers Complete, trend and take actions to improve GMP, Hygiene & Fabrication and QMS internal audits Traceability and Mass Balance as per audit schedule Management and updating of Packaging Supplier database.
Participate in complaint investigations and continuous improvement projects with effective root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions Liaise with internal departments regarding new or updated Work on internal projects for continual site/departmental improvement Communication with colleagues/customers to the highest written/verbal standards Development of robust relationships both internally and externally Interdepartmental multiskilling to ensure sufficient cover for holidays etc Manage the technical training matrix Maintain approved list for transport and service providers Essential Criteria Relevant Third Level Qualification HACCP Level 2 Food Safety Level 2 Minimum 3-years experience working within fast paced food manufacturing environment IT literate Exceptional time management and organisation skills Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team Excellent communicator with the ability to engage at all levels Desirable Criteria Degree / HND in Food Science or similar subject HACCP 3 Food Safety Level 3 Allergen training Internal Audit training Knowledge of retailers standards and codes of practice (M&S, Waitrose, Asda, Morrisons) Allergen control, validations, testing, trending Experience of conducting Internal Audits and trending the information Proficient in MS Office suite Experience with MRP / stock management / auditing systems A degree of flexibility is required to accommodate audits / sickness cover / holiday cover People management / leadership skills **No agencies at this time please** Skills: Compliance Training Auditing Traceability Continuous Improvement Projects Multi-skilling Benefits: Subsidised canteen Employee of the Month awards Long Service awards Health & Wellbeing Initiatives Technical training programmes linked to pay Free on-site parking Skills Development Programmes
