Overview of the role The QA Officer will work closely with quality assurance and compliance colleagues to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practice and where applicable, Good Distribution Practice are met.
The QA officer will have the opportunity to perform a vast range of activities including involvement in core pharmaceutical quality system (PQS) activities, process design, training, supplier management, artwork and labelling.
Main Responsibilities Work towards becoming the organisation's subject matter expert for product information, artwork and labelling.
Gradual training and support will be provided Be involved in the day-to-day activities of change control, deviation and CAPA Prepare quality risk assessments and annual product quality reviews (APQRs) Support in batch review for batch release activities Perform finished product sampling of drug products (if based in Redditch) Download data logger data for received stock (if based in Redditch) Support in the preparation of quality technical agreements, working with third-parties Support in the preparation of SOPs Review batch protocol templates (BMR, BPR) and specifications and analytical methods prior to their approval, with the aim of approving them in future Engage in routine interdisciplinary team meetings and Management Review Meetings Problem Solving & Change: Be able to take decisions on grey area scenarios for artwork / labelling based on various guidelines Be able to horizon scan changes in the industry, trends and potential issues which may be faced in the pharmaceutical supply chain Be able to manage changes in a streamlined and organised manner, reducing the impact to the supply chain and avoiding medicine shortages Key Skills & Experience : Science background preferred, but not mandatory.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred, but not mandatory.
At least 2 + years experience required in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting Pharmacy technician or experience in community pharmacy, primary healthcare or secondary healthcare preferred, but not mandatory Quality and manufacturing background preferred, but not mandatory Demonstratable ability to learn independently and quickly absorb knowledge during training Problem solving and proactive prevention through escalation IT literacy Good communication and organisation skills Willingness to bring new ideas to the table and drive continuous improvement as part of the company's quality culture The Ideal Candidate Well are proud to be a diverse and inclusive employer.
