Our goal is to deliver our projects successfully, whilst being warm, fair, kind, and most importantly, having fun doing it About this role We are seeking a skilled, experienced and enthusiastic Project Manager with expertise in delivering Heritage Projects to help deliver some exciting projects in the Midlands and wider UK on a part-time basis.
In this role, you will lead the planning, management, and execution of projects related to the restoration, conservation, and adaptive reuse of heritage sites.
Your leadership will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest quality standards while respecting the historical significance of the sites involved.
This role requires knowledge of heritage conservation principles and an ability to navigate the complexities of working with historic buildings.
You will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, managing budgets, timelines, and stakeholder relationships while ensuring compliance with conservation guidelines and regulations.
As our work focuses on the delivery of projects, this is a hybrid role split between the company office, client offices, project sites and working from home (which is actively encouraged as long as the role is being fulfilled).
The client offices and project sites for this role are all based in the Midlands, ranging from approximately 15 – 90 minutes from the company office.
A commitment to work from the company for at least one day per week (or more) is very desirable to foster collaboration and team building.

What we expect of you The role is varied and flexible and the company is keen that the appointed consultant helps to shape the scope, however, as a minimum, it will encompass the following requirements: Project Leadership: Lead multiple heritage projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards.
Develop and manage comprehensive Project Execution Plans, project programmes/schedules, and risk registers using tools like Microsoft Project.
Ensure all projects comply with heritage conservation laws and guidelines, liaising with local and national preservation bodies as needed.
Governance & Compliance: Establish and maintain strong project governance, including producing project documentation such as progress reports, site inspection reports, meeting agendas and minutes, risk registers Manage the procurement process, including preparing tenders and coordinating with contractors, ensuring proper documentation of all contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, heritage conservation officers, architects, and other stakeholders.
Facilitate clear and consistent communication to ensure alignment on project goals and preservation standards.
Site Management: Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and compliance with both conservation and safety standards.
Address any issues or challenges arising during the construction phase, proposing solutions to maintain project integrity.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business leads and tender opportunities Lead tender responses and contribute to the development of business marketing materials.
Actively represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities.

What we need to see from you Essential: · Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in construction project management, ideally within the heritage sector or with heritage experience.
· Strong understanding of heritage conservation principles, including relevant legislation and regulatory bodies.
· Proven ability to manage complex projects involving heritage sites, including budget management, risk assessment, and compliance with planning regulations.
· Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills (both written and verbal), with experience in managing a variety of stakeholders (clients, consultants, contractors, conservation officers, etc).
· Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
· Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Familiarity with construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT) and experience with project governance documentation.
· A full, clean UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
· Self-motivated with the ability to embrace new challenges and a personable, can-do attitude, and who can operate both autonomously and as part of a team and demonstrates a flexible approach to work.
Desirable: · A construction-related degree.
· Membership with professional bodies such as RICS, CIOB, RIBA, APM, or IHBC.
· Any APM project management qualification (e.g.
PFQ, PMQ, PPQ).
· Experience using Building Information Modelling (BIM) on heritage projects.
· Interest in or experience of the heritage sector or historic buildings.
· Commitment to work from the company office at least one day per week.
