Project Buyer -Engineering Bradford £36,000 - £38,000 Monday to Friday One day hybrid One of my Modern Manufacturing clients based in Bradford is looking for an experienced Buyer/Supply Chain Professional to join the business to manage volume procurement projects with suppliers, stock management, materials and forecasting for the production and sales teams.
This opportunity would ideally suit someone that can work autonomously, you will have buying exposure, materials planning, pricing and strong analytical and negotiation skills, can identify cost savings, implement new agreements and looking to progress into a senior team.
As the key buyer you will have experience working within an manufacturing or engineering environment and a sound understanding of material demands with production.
There are 3 main focuses of this role that would equally split between your time.
· Buying: o Raising purchase orders for all product lines o Negotiating best rates for the larger spend products purchased o Meeting suppliers to negotiate best pricing and call off requirements o Review associated costs on imports from overseas suppliers o Ensure all costs are accounted for · Stock Management: o Looking at re-order levels of items based on past usage trends o Working with the sales teams and their sales opportunities to stock items needed and not overstock product lines o Work closely with the Stores Manager to make sure stock counts on lines are accurate o Work closely with the factory unit managers to ensure stock counts on their fast moving materials are booked out o Regular reviews of old and slow moving stock o Work with sales teams on best methods to reduce · Costs Management: o Placing the costs of product line's negotiated and then purchased into the system for the sales teams – ensuring accuracy o Ensuring job costs are accounted for in our total cost prices o Liaising daily with suppliers to meet lead times, cost savings, working towards deadlines and coordinating all the product range and pricing for both new & refurbishment projects o Product and technical knowledge is key, ability to manage timescales effectively and confidence to review supplier contracts and costings.
Production of weekly/monthly reports and KPI's for Directors.
o The ability to schedule material requirements working alongside the site teams.
The selected candidate will join a team of three Buyers and will report directly to the Head of Procurement.
This is a full-time, office-based role, requiring 38.25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Following a successful induction period, the candidate will have the option to work remotely one day per week, with the exception of Fridays.
The annual salary for this role ranges from £36,000 per annum to £38,000.
The client is looking for a candidate that has a minimum of 3 years experience working within a similar role.
