About The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen with the EKC Sixth Form at EKC Canterbury College, part of the East Kent Colleges Group, for a Programme Director (aka Course Leaders) of A Level Maths and Physics.
This is predominantly a teaching role, with the expectation to support development of the curriculum area and develop a centre of excellence.
Teaching, supporting and assessing students progress and achievement.To be considered for Programme Director responsibilities, applicants must be teacher qualified with at least one years' teaching experience post achievement of the teaching qualification.
Without these skills candidates may not be considered for this role.
We are specifically looking for candidates with experience of teaching and managing academic Maths and Physics qualifications at Key Stage 5.
As a Programme Director at EKC Sixth Form you will plan a highly relevant and distinctive A level curriculum to meet the needs of the student, liaising with the Department leadership team to support outstanding achievement and progression for students.
Your role responsibilities will also include leading and coordinating the delivery team so all students receive up-to-date course information through precourse/programme events and start of course/programme activities to facilitate student understanding of the objectives of the subjects, assessment schedules and requirements in line with awarding body criteria, including the course/programme handbook.Alongside our priority of excellent student experience, we also focus on our employees.

Assessing and tracking student progress, to further plan intervention will be a vital part of the role as well as ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.

A Level Maths and/or Physics teaching experience is essential and strong management skills are desirable.
