https://youtu.be/PnHbe1FT8Eg Purpose of role: Naked Energy has developed Virtu: a family of solar products that provide simultaneous heat and power to commercial and industrial buildings.
Having commercialised the present generation of Virtu technology, Naked Energy is now looking to develop the next generation to achieve improved thermal and electrical performance, lower cost and easier integration.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in the development of this next generation of Virtu product.
They will be embedded in the wider technical team, and will be able to draw on contributions and expertise from their teammates, as well as contributing themselves to the other technical challenges across the business.
They will engage with the commercial team to understand customer needs and how they are fulfilled by our products.
Role Responsibilities: Design, prototype, characterize and value-engineer new products Develop new characterization methods when required Perform calculations or simulations to predict and benchmark performance, and to understand experimental results Manage external suppliers and service providers when required for product development Work with the team to bring a suite of innovative renewable energy products from TRL1 to TRL9 Critique Naked Energy's product range and product roadmap with reference to the competitor landscape and KPIs that are most relevant to the customer Formulate their own ideas for new products and product improvements Qualifications & Experience: 10+ years in R, D & I in either an industry or academic environment Proven track record of innovation and execution across the technology-readiness spectrum Experience in mechanical, hydronic, electrical & optics Hands on experience: able to build equipment in the workshop and run tests in the laboratory Experience in physic/engineering calculation and simulation Experience in solar or renewables or heating/cooling technology Experience of leading small teams Bachelors or masters in STEM Desirable: PhD in a relevant topic Should you need any support during the recruitment process please let us know.

Remuneration: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum Location Our HQ is in Crawley, and we have a further office in London.
We encourage everyone to be in an office for at least 40% of their working hours, but provide flexibility with this dependent on personal circumstances and geographical location.
