Procurement Specialist - Mining

This role is full time office based Due to continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join a leading global organisation that sources and procures a diverse selection of supplies and materials to a range of international businesses across the Infrastructure, Mining, Energy & Agriculture sectors.

To be considered for this role you must have previous international procurement experience within a similar mining, energy, infrastructure or oil & gas business.
Key Responsibilities: · Negotiate, source and obtain materials, equipment and services, achieving competitive pricing without compromising quality.

· Liaise directly with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure quotes are secured and successfully delivered.

· Provide clients with an offer that meets their exact technical and commercial requirements and is compliant, competitive, clear and comprehensive.

· Execute and manage supplier contracts in accordance with guidelines to optimise cost, service and quality.

· Evaluate and select suppliers based on credibility/capability, commercial, technical and delivery criteria.

· Effectively time manage to meet all deadlines, due dates and delivery schedules.

· Manage the sales order backlog so that the procurement team hand files over to supply chain team within the agreed KPIs.

Skills & Experience: · Minimum 3 years procurement experience including a good knowledge in global sourcing · A buyer with broad mechanical and electro-mechanical understanding as well as a good knowledge of MRO requirements both locally and internationally would be useful
· Good knowledge of the Mining industry/equipment/suppliers · Knowledgeable about international trade and logistics challenges
· Ideally some experience working with clients in Africa and the Middle East
· Familiar with ISO 9001 QMS processes
· Additional languages, especially French a plus
· Team player
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships
· Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills
· Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Excel in particular
· A positive can-do attitude
· Great negotiations skills with suppliers to ensure best value outcomes for the business
