Private Clients Underwriting Manager – Hybrid in London City – ARD1059695We're on the hunt for an experienced Private Clients Underwriting Manager to join Hoxton Insurance Services and play a key role in shaping the future of our MGA.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Hoxton, you will focus on enhancing our underwriting capability, driving revenue opportunities and ensuring long-term partnerships with our insurer partners.
You will work closely with our Head of Property Underwriting, Technical and Operational Underwriting teams to support on projects which drive additional revenue opportunities for the business.Hoxton insurance Services is part of Geo Underwriting Services Limited.
As the UK Commercial MGA for Ardonagh Advisory and a Gold rated Investor in Customer insurance business, Geo specialise in Agriculture, Construction, Property, Liability, Marine and Protection lines.
What will you do here as a Private Clients Underwriting Manager?This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.
Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:Lead technical property underwriting to facilitate delivery of our underwriting strategyAssist the Head of Property Underwriting with capacity management, including performance monitoring, MI analysis, underwriting reviews and underwriting footprint improvement.Support the business strategy by recommending capacity and product adjustments for growth and efficiency.Produce and report MI to guide management decisions.Engage strategically with brokers to drive new initiatives and align with underwriting goals.Analyse claims data to refine underwriting, and update policy wordings.Contribute to capacity and product strategies, recommending changes where needed.Collaborate with our Product and Governance Team to ensure compliance with the FCA Fair Values reporting, and product review process.
Who we are looking for to be our next Private Clients Underwriting Manager?Core Pricing/Underwriting background.Experience of project implementation.A proven track record of collaborating with Insurer Partners.Experience in people management including motivation, coaching, development and performance management.Results driven, with a strong commercial acumen in a fast-paced environment.With the support of your colleagues, an ability to translate underwriting experience into digital models to facilitate automation of underwriting processConfidence to be the gatekeeper of underwriting profit while finding ways to facilitate top line growth.
