Job description Job responsibilities To beresponsible for the delivery of practice nursing services to the practicepopulation, working collaboratively with the rest of the practice team.
The practicenurse is responsible for a number of clinical areas such as chronic diseasemanagement, vaccination and immunisation and general treatment room duties, aswell as certain defined administrative duties.The practicenurse role requires the ability to work both autonomously and within a team,good communication, assessment and risk-management skills in order to provideholistic, individualised care which promotes independence and self-care as muchas possible.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council) Desirable Mentor or teaching qualification Post graduate diploma or degree (Chronic Disease Management) Knowledge and skills Essential Wound care/removal of sutures and staples ECGs Venepuncture New patient medicals Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly Understanding the importance of evidence-based practice Understand the requirement for PGDs and associated policy Ability to record accurate clinical notes Ability to work within own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to GPs Chaperone procedure Womens health (cervical cytology, contraception, etc.)
