Role title: Planning, Design and Dimensioning (PDD) Data Core Engineering Senior ManagerLocation: UK Role PurposeLead the Planning, Design and Dimensioning and the Evolution for the Data Core Network for Vodafone to guarantee the proper end-to-end design, dimensioning, cloud design and integration, cybersecurity and optimisation of the Data Core network, according to Business Demand to deliver best in class service and support the cloud evolution journey to deliver the network of the future to host all current data services for 2G, 3G, 4G and also all the new ones for 5G such as MPN, MEC, network exposure services, etc.
Secure the Data Core network best performance, secured and quality of service as per customers and business needs.Drive the evolution of the Data Core network, and the introduction of new advanced technologies such as 5GSA, including AI, Automation, and the evolution to Cloud.Provide active support to Network Strategy and Architecture and VPC and have a key role in network evolution and strategic plans and RFQs for Data Core Services and network functions.
Manage suppliers and partners to deliver the required new capabilities for consumer and corporate customers in the Data Core space.Facilitate the cross-domain activities coordination and interaction with Network Strategy and Architecture team, Cloud Connectivity and Engineering, Core&Services, Vodafone Procurement Center and other Vodafone teams and departments.Build the required environment to create an ambitious and high-performance team gradually increasing performance and capabilities.
What you'll doKey accountabilities and decision ownership: Management of the engineering & design team dealing with Data Core networks across Europe:Be accountable of the planning, design, dimensioning, optimisation, integration, cybersecurity and performance for Data Core networks to offer best services experience.Evolve resilient & secure Data Core NWs.Direct management of senior stakeholders and act as a bridge between Engineering departments and commercial departmentsDefine, design and plan the Network Evolution Plan and long-range plans.Data Core Vendor Management.Ensure state of the art architecture to support our "best network "claim through scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions.
Mobilise and coordinate all required engineering efforts to transform and evolve the Data Core network into the future Cloud Network to support all combined services.Active technical support and coordination in RFQs for Data Core Networks.
Who you areCore competencies, knowledge and experience:Deep operational and technical experience with ability to manage the design and network evolution challenges.Capable of building a true end-2-end view for Data Core network.Identify/understand the best opportunities for improvements within Data Core Network, in line with our strategy, analysing potential implications and elaborating concrete risk mitigation strategy.Strong established relationships with key stakeholders namely with network strategy and architecture, Vodafone Procurement Center, Core&Services, /planning/commercial/demand teams.Strong people management and motivation skills.
