Job summary Our GP Personal Assistants are integral membersof The Quarter Jack Surgery team.
They act as a focal point of communicationbetween patients, doctors and other medical staff.This busy but fulfilling role is responsible forworking closely with the Care Navigators in the reception team, providingclinical administration for doctors and nurses, including answering and makingpatient calls and responding to tasks and supporting the Care Navigators withqueries.
NHS or medical experience, excellent administrative and teamworkingskills, and evidence of working effectively under pressure are essential.Applicants with a clinical background are preferred.
The post is one of severaladmin staff who work closely together as a team within reception.
The role isto provide a friendly and efficient PA service for patients, team members andclinicians and undertake additional administrative duties.
Main duties of the job Supporting members of reception team eg CareNavigators and prescribing clerks, with patient enquiries including onlinequeriesSupporting GPs, dealing with administrativequeries and tasks on their behalfReceiving and making telephone calls as requestedArranging appointments for medicals and othernon-routine appointmentsArranging home visits, home visit reports andresponsibility for allocating a GP to undertake visit in the absence ofregistered GP as per the rota systemTaking messages and recording themProcessing forms prior to passing to a GP forcompletion, private health claim forms etcGenerating prescriptions in accordance with GPinstructionsFollowing GP instructions on path links(pathology network)Dealing with problems and queries from doctors,other healthcare staff and patientsSorting of GP mail for scanning, data loadingand/or destroyingUsing SystmOne to enter patient information andidentify patients requiring treatment/reviewChecking GP appointments on SystmOne and advisingof any discrepanciesEnsuring the NHS email system is used as anefficient means of communicationLiaison with consultants, technicians and otherhospital staffAs part of the reception team, you would need todemonstrate flexibility and you may be asked to work in other areas About us Thepost is one of several admin staff who work closely together as a team withinreception.
