About the job In this role you will: Work alongside the Practice Development Team and Autism Services teams to embed supported decision-making in everyday practice, advising practitioners on how best to achieve this for autistic people who may have learning disabilities and/or high support needs.
To support efforts to facilitate access to community activities, autistic spaces, and democratic processes.
To facilitate a Leadership Development Programme that will allow the people we support to gain confidence, knowledge and skills to advocate for their rights, needs and aspirations in both internal and external forums.
To support the meaningful inclusion of the autistic people we support, and the wider autistic community, in our organisational communications and campaigning.
To facilitate an Autistic Advisory Panel that will contribute to strategic organisational decisions on a range of themes.
This may include practice development; internal and external learning programmes and activities; policy campaigning priorities; and organisational communications.
To support organisation-wide efforts to provide accessible communication – including board papers; Executive reports and strategy communications; regular internal communications, policies and learning resources.
About You The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: Coaching and facilitation skills Ability to manage multiple workstreams Ability to innovate and inspire colleagues and supported people towards a shared vision of a more inclusive organisation A strong commitment to participatory approaches to support practice, research, and campaigning.
Ability to distil complex information into key messages and communicate clearly.
Ability to engage people with a diverse range of communication styles and preferences.
