Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team on a flexible hour contract (30-40 hours per week) in our Hammersmith and Chiswick properties.
The ideal candidate will have experience in interior and exterior painting, wallpaper stripping and lining , and general decorating.
As a Painter and Decorator, you will be responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of our Apartments, Hometels, offices, commercial buildings by applying paint, finishes, and wallpapers to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality and efficient results.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, and priming.
Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and wallpapers using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
Measure and cut wallpaper to fit designated spaces, ensuring a neat and professional finish.
Ensure proper surface preparation by cleaning and repairing walls, ceilings, and other surfaces before applying paint or finishes.
Mix and match paint colors according to the clients specifications or design requirements.
Work with different types of surfaces such as wood, metal, drywall, and plaster.
Inspect and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Clean and maintain work areas, ensuring a tidy and safe environment.
Advise clients on paint types, finishes, and design options.
Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards while performing all tasks.
Collaborate with other team members to complete large-scale projects on time.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a painter and decorator, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
Knowledge of painting techniques, color theory, wallpaper installation, and surface preparation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good attention to detail and quality.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients to understand their needs.
Ability to follow instructions and work with precision.
A valid drivers license (preferred for travel to job sites).
Experience with a range of tools and equipment including paint sprayers, brushes, and rollers.
Requirements: Previous experience in a similar role or relevant trade qualification is preferred.
Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and climbing ladders.
Strong work ethic and professionalism.
Willingness to work in various weather conditions when performing outdoor tasks.
Ability to manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
