Job summary We arelooking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join a friendlyand supportive community team on a permanent basis.We are ateam of passionate, innovative and child-centred therapists based at The SaltWay Centre in West Swindon.
The Salt WayCentre is a specialist centre for childrens therapies (Speech & LanguageTherapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy), the disabled childrenssocial work team, and a specialist early years centre for children with complexneeds.
Main duties of the job Newly qualified therapists will have access to a mentor to supportwith NQP competencies.You will bemanaging a caseload of children and young people in clinics, preschools andschools.
If you have particular areas of interest, we can offer opportunitiesto further develop your practice in areas such as: EarlyYears Autism Specialeducational needs Cleftlip and palate, Dysphagia Deafness.We can offerexcellent learning and career development opportunities, with training andsupport from experienced therapists to support your ongoing development.

Job description Job responsibilities KeyAccountabilitiesTo manage own caseload in identifiedsetting.To work effectively as part of the serviceteam, multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.To manage own time effectively and prioritise tasks appropriately.
Inpartnership with children/young people and carers to assess, evaluate, developand implement individualised treatment plans for children/young people usingclinical reasoning skills, evidence- based practice and utilising a wide rangeof therapeutic approaches.To assessand diagnose speech and language difficulties in children.Todevelop and implement care packages identifying appropriate treatment from arange of options.To workclosely with carers / parents / other professionals / children whereappropriate, in the planning and prioritisation of therapy plans and programmes.This includes motivating others to participate in therapy intervention.Tocomplete reports and maintain clinical records in line with professional andorganisational standards.To attendrelevant meetings and case conferences as required.To befully aware at all times of individual responsibility for safeguardingchildren/young people and to work effectively to meet national and localstandards and procedures.Todemonstrate a working knowledge of CQC standards and Organisational policiesand how they apply to everyday clinical practice.To be responsible for a varied caseload of children and young peopleaged 0-18 years of age within the post holders agreed scope of practice.Tocommunicate with a network of Education, Health and Social Care professionalsand the voluntary sector.
