King Edward VII's Hospital, one of London's leading private hospitals, is seeking a skilled outpatient healthcare Assistant to join our team.
About the Role: As an Outpatients Healthcare Assistant at King Edward VII's Hospital, you will be a vital part of our dynamic Outpatients Department.
This role involves supporting our nursing and medical teams across a diverse range of speciality clinics, including Urology, Gynaecology, Dermatology, and Plastic Surgery.
You will assist with both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure that our patients receive the highest standard of care in a safe and welcoming environment.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will possess NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification, coupled with prior experience as a Healthcare Assistant in an outpatient setting or as a Nursing Assistant in surgical wards.
They should hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and be prepared to work across multiple specialities, including Urology, Gynaecology, Dermatology, and Plastic Surgery.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and assist patients for consultations and procedures in our Urology, Gynaecology, Dermatology, and Plastic Surgery clinics.
Provide personal care and support, including help with mobility, hygiene, and other daily activities as required.
Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
Offer emotional support and information to patients and their families about their care and procedures.
Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and ECGs, and assist with specialised procedures as needed.
Prepare and maintain clinical areas for different specialities, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and ready for patient use.
Assist with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with the scheduling and coordination of appointments across various clinics.
Manage patient flow and support clinicians to ensure efficient operation of the Outpatients Department.
Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
Participate in mandatory training and development programs.
Report incidents, accidents, or concerns promptly.
Requirements: Experience in or a strong willingness to work across multiple specialities, including Urology, Gynaecology, Dermatology, and Plastic Surgery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in an outpatient setting or as a Nursing Assistant in surgical wards.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
