Outpatient Services Team Leader

Job summary The Outpatients Bookings Team Leader will support the Health Records Manager with the smooth and efficient running of all the operation aspects of Health Records Library Services including staff management issues.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of the Health Records Systems in accordance with Trust and Departmental policies on Record Management Standards and procedures.
They will provide training to staff within the Outpatient Booking Department and throughout Velindre NHS Trust on Health Record issues.
The post holder will take responsibility for the management of the Outpatient booking administration teams ensuring compliance with Trust policies.
The Outpatient Booking Team Leader will work within the clinical services ensuring appropriate prioritisation and then chronological booking is consistent for all outpatient appointments.
Main duties of the job Contribute to the health records management strategy for the organisation, ensuring that recommendations are agreed and implemented within timescales.
To be responsible for ensuring that systems are in place to achieve delivery of the Directorate's patient access targets via the implementation of new processes and procedures and updating the Health Records Manager The post holder is responsible for the practical management of Outpatient waiting lists, working closely within the Health Records Manager to ensure waiting list improvements and national targets are achieved.
To present highly complex statistical information to staff to assist with ongoing service improvement.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the Health Records Manager in the achievement of all elective access targets.
The post holder will be responsible for training all staff in the rules and guidance for Outpatient Bookings delivery under the direction of the Health Records Manager The post holder will provide support and line management to the Outpatient Booking administration teams ensuring optimum utilisation of outpatient capacity.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential Degree level education or equivalent specialist knowledge of Health Records Management acquired through experience plus alternative qualifications HNC/HND, NVQ, ILM5.
Management qualification or equivalent specialist knowledge.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable Foundation Certificate of the Institute of Health Records and Information Management.
Degree in Health Informatics.
IQT Silver Aptitude and Abilities Essential Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to motivate and support team members Demonstrate a commitment to achieving high quality standards of work.
Desirable Ability to speak Welsh Experience Essential Extensive experience of working in a Health Records environment experience.
Experience of dealing with all disciplines of staff.
Specialist knowledge of Health Records Systems and processes.
Detailed knowledge of PAS Understanding of Trust policies and procedures including HR.
Desirable Extensive knowledge of WPAS.
Team Leader or Supervisor experience
