Operations Manager - Paint Shop

Paint Shop Operations Manager Marlow based Copello are working with a defence organisation who are looking for an Operations manager to head up the Paint Shop team to make sure operational KPI's are in line with business requirements and develop, monitor and prioritise the production plan to meet required deliveries in order to build and manage a high performing production team.
Key responsibilities Develop and execute the Production plan to meet OTD and arrears targets.
Lead the paint/prep team to achieve the required deliverables by communicating job expectations, planning, scheduling, monitoring and appraising.
Provide feedback to the Value Stream managers on weekly priority requirements.
Drive and lead improvements within the paint area linking directly to business Productivity.
Work alongside the Tier 3 Operations leadership team to raise and resolve challenges within the paint shop area.
Recruit and develop employees within the paint shop and prep area, setting annual targets and goals via appraisals, ensuring compliance with HR processes.
Manage the inventory of paint and consumables within the area.
Develop a system to allow future capacity planning.
Monitor the condition of all Paint Shop equipment and define future requirements/maintenance.
Monitor and manage all SHE issues within the team ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members regarding painting, prepping, masking and de-masking techniques.
Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure that all necessary quality requirements are met, FPY.
Key skills Previous experience in an Operations Management position Leadership skills to motivate a team Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Paint Shop background (Painting, Prepping, masking, de-masking) experience is desirable Excellent planning and reporting skills A strong awareness of SHE issues IT literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
