What we do We're a small, vibrant mountain guiding company based in East Greenland at the lodge we built in the Tunumi community of Kulusuk.
For over 20 years now, we've cut our own groove, developing a successful business on this arctic frontier of mountains, glaciers and fjords.
We specialise in exploratory climbing, skiing, sea kayaking and trekking with a group of like-minded guests from around the World.
The role We're looking for an ambitious and focussed new team member to contribute their business administrative skills to drive forward this niche business that's inspired by a passion for the wild places we explore.
Until recently, the guiding team have handled this themselves so there's the opportunity to make a real difference, combining your expertise with ours.
This pivotal role will involve maintaining an oversight of the diverse elements of the business and applying a high level of attention to each element - from budgeting and expedition planning to sales, liaising with guests, business administration, logistics and operations.
Work location Working from home, preferably based in the Lake District to be close to other members of the team.
Up to 2 trips to Greenland a year (2 - 4 weeks in spring and summer).
Key responsibilities Business administration: responsibility for the day-to-day running of our office Client contact: helping guests choose, book, then prepare for their trip; development of custom projects together with our mountain guides and prospective guests Digital marketing and social media Website: writing up new trips and managing page content Booking system: day-to-day use of our in-house booking platfor Logistics and supplies: planning, ordering and shipment of seasonal supplies Mid- and long-term strategic planning What we're looking for 3+ years' experience in a relevant role.
Ambitious with a view to making long-term positive change   Proficiency in Excel-based systems Ability to maintain a wide-ranging overview of the business, working on multiple projects simultaneously and applying high levels of focus when needed Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong copy-writing ability Photo editing skills for website and social media Keen interest in outdoor culture; preferably in backcountry skiing, trekking and mountaineering.
Well organised, self-motivated and able to take initiative Comfortable working alone/remotely for long periods of time with the ability to work well as part of a team What we can offer Starting salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE Company pension Annual holiday: 29 days including bank holidays Working hours: 32 hours a week, over 4.5 days, with some flexibility possible.
Contract: Permanent on completion of a probationary period of 6 months.
