The Role The Operations Engineer will support production and maintenance activities at the Scunthorpe site and its associated satellites.
The role focuses on achieving safety, reliability, and efficiency targets.
Responsibilities include managing minor projects, implementing initiatives for cost savings, reducing process safety risks, and improving reliability and compliance.
Collaboration with Central Engineering, Reliability resources, and third-party service providers is essential.
Key Responsibilities: Engage in site development, refurbishment, and problem-solving as part of the Scunthorpe Cluster Management Team.
Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company standards.
Implement and manage Safe Systems of Work, including Permit to Work systems and Contractor Controls.
Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and HRA activities to identify and mitigate major accident hazards.
Manage process risk registers and ensure timely communication and implementation of controls.
Support internal and external audits and manage corrective actions from these audits.
Oversee the Interlex incident investigation system and manage the EMOC register.
Facilitate maintenance planning meetings and ensure timely execution of maintenance work.
Support the development and use of the SAP preventative and defect maintenance system.
Identify CAPEX investments and prepare business cases based on plant condition assessments.
Undertake site improvement projects to enhance reliability and operational resilience.
Act as an intelligent customer for selected projects and support commissioning and acceptance of significant projects.
Identify and sustain efficiency improvements in both fixed and variable costs.
Track productivity improvements using required tools.
Review and assess annual plant condition assessments and implement efficiency improvements.
