Working under the guidance of the Senior Occupational Health Advisor, and responsible for OH Screening Nurses, the purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive OH nursing service for the force.
Key aspects of the role will involve: • Dealing with complex OH cases and undertaking sickness absence case management, including producing accurate associated documentation.
• Leading and managing OH Screening Nurses, providing support and advice to OH Technicians as required.
• When required undertaking recruitment, fitness for task and health surveillance activities.
• Supporting body fluid exposure risk assessments and workplace vaccinations.
• Able to demonstrate proven skills in communication, team working and compassion, working in line with evidence-based practice.
• Computer literate with experience of using OH software service delivery systems.
• Be willing to work flexibly at different locations across the force.
Applicants must be registered nurses, with current fitness to practice and hold an appropriate OH qualification at diploma/degree level and above.
Understanding of OH within a blue light environment would be an advantage.
