Job Description Reporting to the M40 Night Works Manager, the Night Works Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of planned night-time works, and completion and handover of all associated records.
The Night Works Supervisor will oversee the efficient delivery of night works, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
This role ensures that planned night works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while minimising disruption to traffic and local communities.
The Night Works Supervisor will coordinate resources and liaise with the Night Works Manager to ensure completion and sign off of all night-time works.
The role will ensure that health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are maintained, and compliance with Egis codes of ethics and conduct.
The Night Works Supervisor will also oversee the efficient operation of the highway's Incident Support Units during a night shift, ensuring rapid response to incidents within the defined contractual time scales.
Responsibilities: Ensure all activities are completed safely in compliance with the company's health and safety & environmental policies and procedures.
Oversee the night shift delivery, including cyclical works, VRS repairs and major maintenance schemes ensuring that all works are completed satisfactorily, and all relevant works documents are completed and filed in a timely manner.
Ensure accurate records of completed works are input in a timely and contractual manner and that any failures are reported back to the Night Works Manager for re-planning.
Collaborate with the Traffic Management teams to ensure planned Traffic Management is installed correctly and in accordance with current regulations Ensuring service delivery of the Incident Support Units in responding to emergencies and incidents on the highway network as per contractual requirements Identify and communicate any appropriate training requirements for operatives to the Night Works Manager.
Ensure all night works comply with health and safety regulations.
Undertake regular site inspections and safety audits to identify all risks and remove or mitigate against Investigate incidents and near-misses, documenting findings implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and escalating findings to ensure lessons learnt are captured Monitor work to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
Proactively identify and address and/or escalate any defects or non-conformances to the Night Works Manager.
Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are available prior to commencement of night works.
Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements Support the process that identifies the levels of competence required to deliver the service and communicate these back to the Night Works Manager To identify performance issues of subcontractors with the Night Works Manager to enable them to be dealt with in a timely manner.
Report any issues with fleet or plant to the Night Works Manager and provide support in rectifying issues where required, whilst looking for ways to innovate and provide a better service.
Promote and develop teamwork and positive work attitudes.
Behave in a manner to promote collaboration and fairness, and to foster a positive work environment, improving morale of the workforce.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with our client and partners.
Work closely with other departments, contractors to facilitate effective incident response and night works delivery Qualifications Experience: Proven track record as a Site Supervisor on high-speed road projects.
Qualifications: CSCS Supervisor card, SSSTS/SMSTS.
Strong understanding of Civil Engineering, drainage and road construction.
A demonstrable ability to identify areas for improvement, and implement change, through a combination of clear and effective communication, and a drive to succeed.
Considerable and demonstrable experience of a high regard to safety and quality on a high-speed strategic road network.
Strong ability to lead teams effectively, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Capable of making informed decisions under pressure, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Flexible approach to managing changing priorities and working conditions during nighttime hours Additional Information You must have the right to work in the UK Working arrangements: 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts.
