Network Manager- Acute Physical Deterioration Implementation Network

Job summary THIS POST IS SECONDMENT FOR 2 YEARS DUE TO FUNDING The Acute Physical Deterioration implementation network will be aligned to the Critical Care, Trauma and Emergency Medicine Strategic Network.
It will take forward the acute deterioration work across all patient groups including adults, children and young people, pregnant people and neonates.
The implementation network will therefore work closely with the Maternity and Neonatal Strategic Network and the Child Health Network.
This new role is also an exciting opportunity to work in partnership with the Quality Safety and Improvement directorate of the NHS Executive.
The Network Manager, in partnership with the Network Clinical Lead, will ensure the Network undertakes it purpose to provide intensive support leadership and oversight of the implementation programme for standardised Early Warning Scores across NHS Wales.
The network will: Work closely with health boards and trusts to support their adoption of the standardised Early Warning Score tools Support the development of deteriorating patient pathways which includes the integration of these tools into effective response systems, Monitor progress with implementation and provide national updates to Welsh Government Main duties of the job The following duties will be discharged working closely with key programme stakeholders: Manage the implementation of the agreed Acute Physical Deterioration Implementation Network programme across Wales in collaboration with Health Boards, Trusts, Welsh Government, third sector and other key stakeholders.
Scope out and develop a prioritised work plan to deliver the elements of work priorities and manage the delivery of various work-packages to support the implementation across Wales.
Provide managerial leadership and line management support to the Acute Physical Deterioration Implementation Network staff.
Programme manage the implementation of the network.
Manage the production of the various work packages which constitute the programme and subsequently develop forward work to deliver programme objectives.
Co-ordinate the activities of relevant programme Boards and other forum, identifying issues and developing solutions where necessary.
Collaborate with other NHS Wales and Welsh Government organisations and external agencies, including in other parts of the UK.
Provide advice to Ministers and Senior Officials on the development of policy to support the implementation of the programme.
Provide verbal and written reports as requested by Welsh Government and the NHS Executive.

Building on the consensus recommendations for the management of acute physical deterioration across Wales paper, the next phase of service improvement for patients and their families must be to drive forward best practice in the management of acute physical deterioration in all settings.
Providing effective systems for detection, monitoring and escalation of care that can minimise risks for the population of Wales, based upon current evidence and lived and learnt experience.
This is an exciting and significant national leadership role within the NHS.
As managerial lead of the Acute Physical Deterioration Implementation Network and working closely with the National Clinical Lead for Acute Physical Deterioration the post holder will be responsible for the design, planning, implementation and management of the existing and future work programmes of the Network together with the infrastructure available to deliver the programme.
The post holder will shape the work programme to successfully deliver transformational change across the landscape, providing leadership and direction across the interfaces, joining up the constituent work programmes and other agencies to ensure alignment and a shared vision.
A pivotal element of the role will be to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, at all different levels and roles in the NHS, Welsh Government, third sector partners and other stakeholders.

Person Specification Qualifications and/or Knowledge Essential Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience, preferably within the NHS Evidence of continuing professional development Registered PPM Professional - PRINCE2/AGILE - practitioner level Appropriate demonstrable experience ( Significant experience working in a similar environment at Masters Level).
Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable ECDL or other IT qualification.
IQT Bronze, Silver Change management Registered Professional Healthcare or Social Care Qualification requiring registration on a Clinical Professional Register (HPC/NMC/CQSW), , Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional etc.
Experience Essential Significant management experience in a senior role including staff management.
Expertise in delivering highly specialist project and programme management services and extensive experience in tailoring methodologies to suite the local environment Experience of managing budgets.
