Job summary Exciting opportunities are currently available within our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and we are seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated clinical support workers to join our friendly, well-established, and experienced team!

?Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NICU is one of the Level 3 Centres within the Lancashire and South Cumbria Neonatal Network and part of the North West Neonatal Operational Delivery Network.
?

This role can be demanding at times, but it is incredibly rewarding and worthwhile.

?You will need to be highly motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently as a lone worker and within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

?Our unit comprises 28 cots - providing intensive, high dependency, special care, and transitional care for babies in the Preston and South Ribble area, as well as premature and sick babies from other parts of the Lancashire and South Cumbria region.
?
?You must have a commitment to delivering high-quality, safe care in partnership with families.

Main duties of the job Responsible for the provision of care for a cohort of patients under the delegation and supervision of the nurse in charge, including assisting with the continuous assessment and evaluation of care, performing care risk assessments, assisting with admission and discharge processes, and providing a range of clinical duties under the guidance and supervision of the team leader/nurse in charge, such as: personal hygiene and comfort ?
?, vital signs monitoring ?
?, early recognition and escalation of acutely ill patients ?, fluid balance monitoring ?, enteral feeding/meeting nutritional needs ?, oxygen therapy ?, and providing support and advice to families ?

?.To support the productive operation of the ward environment by undertaking a range of activities that contribute to the maintenance of a safe and clean environment ?

Job description Job responsibilities **Care of Babies and Families:** Provide compassionate care to babies and their families across the neonatal service, with a focus on **transitional care** and **special care** settings.
**Promote Family Integrated Care:** Support and encourage Family Integrated Care and work towards achieving accreditation with the **Breastfeeding Friendly Initiative** to enhance family-centered support.
**Collaborative Teamwork:** Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of the **highest quality care** and positive outcomes for our young patients and their families.

Person Specification Qualifications & Education Essential Maths & English grade 4-9 or grade C or above OR Functional Skills Maths & English Level 2 Completed Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care OR Nursery Nurse qualification Desirable Basic Life Support ECDL or equivalent IT skills Evidence of Higher Education Knowledge & Experience Essential Experience of working with AHPs in MDT Experience of assisting with clinical procedures Knowledge of Health & safety processes Knowledge of infection control and decontamination processes Desirable Experience of working as an assistant practitioner Significant / recent experience of working in a Child Health or Maternity setting
