Location: London, United Kingdom
ROLE Murmur seeks an Executive Director to lead the organisation, build the strategy and drive growth in partners and funders in the years to come. This is an exciting moment to join this impactful charity with a fantastic board of trustees and team, and to work with the art and music industries to effect real change on environmental issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving Murmur into its next phase and will need to show an entrepreneurial mindset and an ability to ensure successful and sustainable growth and development.
The Executive Director will: Lead the Murmur team (currently 2 reports, but due to grow), reporting to the board of trusteesWith the board, determine the overall strategy and goals for MurmurBuild strong relationships with partners who are leading art and music businessesPresent Murmur to potential new partners and sign them upWork with the new PR Director and advisory board to build and launch Murmur Artists SupportWork with the Operations Director to maintain effective delivery of day to day businessEnsure the mobilisation of the industry projects that Murmur is fundingHave overall budgetary responsibility for MurmurSecure funding for operational overheadsLead external communications and be the spokesperson for MurmurHost and speak at eventsThe right candidate will bring experience in these areas: Art and/or music industry contacts and credibility at a high levelAbility to build and grow an organisation dynamically and responsiblyFundraising, development, new business and closing deals with partnersAn interest in or knowledge of environmental sustainability issuesWorking with and understanding of artistsAbility to convincingly pitch a visionStrategic approach to media and communicationsBudget management and financial modellingPublic speakingExperience of a leading role in a charityWorking with trusteesBuilding something new from scratchTheory of Change development and implementationApplication Process Please send your CV with a covering letter to ****** outlining your suitability for this role and highlighting your experience of building a team and/or organisation from the ground up along with the associated challenges of growing such an organisation.
