Job summary We are looking to appoint motivated and enthusiastic individuals to support stroke patients in our inpatient and community rehabilitation teams.
TheMultiprofessional Rehabilitation Assistant (MPRA) role will support the practice of the multidisciplinary teams (including Dietetics, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Clinical Psychology) to deliver the therapeutic goals of people undertaking rehabilitationafter strokeat Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
The post holders will work as part of the multidisciplinary teams for the 38-bedded inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Centre (SRC) and Early Supported Discharge (ESD) community stroke team to deliver specialist patient centred and goal-oriented rehabilitation to support stroke patients.
They will be responsible for delivering person centred meaningful activities working closely with patients, their relatives and carers, volunteers and multidisciplinary professionals across the service.
A key aim of the role is to deliver rehabilitation across 7 days to improve flow and enhance the patient experience.
Therefore, rotas will include weekends and bank holidays as well as week day shifts.
The post will involve rotating between the SRC and ESD teams and therefore the ability to drive with access to a car is desirable for this post.

Main duties of the job The successful candidate will need to: Contribute to the day-to-day delivery of a high-quality service to patients recovering and rehabilitating after stroke.Work well within a multidisciplinary team, under the guidance of registered health professionals.Advocate and support patients' rights by promoting shared decision making, respecting individual choice and beliefs, ensuring privacy and dignity at all times.
