Job summary hours per week.Livewell Southwest are seeking to recruit a ModernMatron with responsibility for CAMHS inpatient care at Plym Bridge House (PBH)and the Acute Care Pathway (PCAP).PBH is a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unitthat includes a Child and Young Peoples Place of unit caresfor young people aged 12-17 who require care in an GAU setting.
The Acute CarePathway covers crisis assessment in the acute hospital, EIP Service, iTASCprovision, Home Treatment Team and Crisis Community Assessment and supports themanagement of risk and support of young people and families in their own home.We welcome experiencedapplicants to lead the development of these services, by embedding our philosophyof care, ensuring care is delivered to the highest standard.
This is an opportunity toprovide credible and visible clinical leadership, focusing on enhancing thequality of care and refining a culture of least restrictive, recovery focusedoutcomes.
Engagement and participation ofyoung people in service development is a key component of this post.The post holder must possessfirst level registration with the NMC, a nursing qualification with a minimumof twoyears experience at clinical/manager (Band 7) or equivalent position.
You will also have a thorough understanding of thechallenges and rewards of supporting young people in mental health distress.
Main duties of the job TheModern Matron provides professional leadership to the CAMHS Tier 4 in-patient unit, Childrens Young People's Place of Safety and the Acute Care Pathway that sit within the Children, Young People and Families Service.Thepost holder provides line management and support to the unit/ward/teammanagers as appropriate with the support of the Directorate Manager.Demonstrate a sound knowledge and provide a clear vision to thestrategic direction of identified clinical services.
Ensuring excellence inservice delivery and clinical governance in conjunction with other nursing,allied health professionals and medical leaders.Work with South West Provider Collaborative Case Managers, Contractleads and quality leads to ensure the care delivered is in line with the Tier4 specification and the access and referrals process.Provide leadership to the Acute Care Pathway to ensure it workscollaboratively with the referral and admission and discharge process to andfrom Tier 4 inpatient facilities and strives to provide care in the home to prevent admission wherever possible.This role may not be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.Please note that we may close the job advertisement earlier than the specified deadline if a high number of applications are submitted.

Job description Job responsibilities Professional /Clinical Care 1.
Responsible forthe day to day management of staff groups, liaising with appropriate managersand facilitating Unit and relevant Team Managers and their deputies in dealingwith issues such as staffing and operational issues.2.
Ensureappropriate delegation of and participation in out-of-hours rota / on-call rotawhere appropriate.3.
Provide expertclinical leadership and support to ward/unit/Team managers and nurses acting asa role model in provision of clear direction for nursing and practicedevelopment.

To support andensure the implementation of clinical supervision for staff within areas ofresponsibility.5.
Where standardsfor facilities services are not met, take corrective action as appropriate.6.
Provide linemanagement to delegated personnel within the service structure.7.
Provide nursingand managerial knowledge and experience to any member of the multi-disciplinaryteam in relation to patient care, ensuring a visible presence is maintained inall clinical areas, endeavouring to spend at least 60% of work time in aclinical environment.8.
The roleincludes a balance of clinical and managerial responsibilities which may varyaccording to need and to be agreed by the Deputy Head of Service.

Provide clinicalsupervision and support to nursing and other professional colleagues.10.
Lead on specificaspects of nursing and service development in agreement with the Head/Deputy ofCYPFS 11.
Set, agree andmonitor standards for clinical practice and patient care and ensure teams havethe right skills to deliver a high quality service.12.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated at Degree/Masters level or equivalent senior level experience Current NMC registration in a field that would give significant exposure to children and young people who require mental health support.
Evidence of recent continuing personal learning / professional development Desirable RMN or RN Child Knowledge Essential Knowledge of current NHS policies / processes and structures especially relating to acute inpatient care Detailed knowledge of CPA and standards of record keeping Ability to prioritise own workload Ability to work on own initiative and also as an effective team member Excellent communication skills Excellent verbal and written skills Good numerical skills Excellent facilitation and arbitration skills Computer literate To be a key figure in the development of Services Awareness of key issues in care and how they impact on service development Desirable Awareness of leadership styles and models of care which have an evidence base for high quality care Experience Essential Experience of implementing change within a team.
Experience of leading a team Significant (at least 2 years) experience at Team leader (B7) role in acute setting or similar setting.
Presentation skills Post Holder is able to demonstrate outcomes achieved following implementation of service development Desirable Experience of working with recovery focused models of care, which are based on least restrictive principles.
Experience of working in the CAMHS acute pathway Skills Essential Genuine passion for developing service user focused services Ability to travel across Plymouth Experience of working with care pathways Experience of data collection, analysis, and synthesis Experience of using Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and electronic mail Effective people management skills with ability to inspire, create positive relationships and provide support to all team members Desirable Current driving licence Experience in project work / management Experience of investigatory processes and service wide development work including CQUIN implementation Ability to analyse data and information to recognise patterns/themes and formulate action plans
