GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Teaching Assistant to start immediately.
Role Overview: As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant , your primary responsibility will be to support students facing mental health challenges in a classroom setting.
You will work closely with teachers to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes both academic success and mental well-being.
Your role will involve providing students with the necessary tools and strategies to manage their mental health and engage fully in their education. Key Duties of the Mental Health Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with mental health challenges, ensuring they are fully included in lessons and activities. Assist students in developing strategies for managing their mental health and emotional well-being. Work collaboratively with teachers to modify and adapt learning strategies to support students with mental health needs. Encourage positive behavior and create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment. Offer emotional support and guidance to students, helping them develop coping mechanisms and resilience. Monitor student progress and contribute to regular updates for teachers, parents, and other staff members. Requirements of the Mental Health TA: A genuine passion for supporting students with mental health challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with teachers, students, and parents. Experience in supporting students with mental health needs is desirable but not required. Patience, empathy, and a calm, approachable demeanor. Flexibility and adaptability in working with students with a variety of needs and challenges. What We Offer: Competitive daily pay rates of £76.92 - £95.68 , based on experience.
