HMP Preston is a remand male prison age from 18 + and a capacity of 680.
The Mental Health Nurse will be based in the 18 bedded unit based as a prison environment.
Hours: This is a permanent full time position based on hours per week Monday - Sunday working various day shifts form - 8pm Salary: This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary is between £33,232 - £40,211 - depending on experience.

You will Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed Assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge Provide outstanding evidence Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders Promote best practice Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.

Qualifications required: Qualified Mental Health Nurse - NMC registration Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills including risk assessment Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
