We are looking for an experienced medical secretary to join the busy Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at Ipswich Hospital.
You should also have excellent communication skills, administrative and organisational skills and be able to produce accurate audio typing and reports as well as responding to ad hoc queries and deadlines effectively.
If you are someone with an approachable, helpful, flexible attitude who enjoys working as part of a team, then this could be the role for you.
Please note, internal candidates will be offered a secondment position only.
Main duties of the job Audio typing of clinic letters using the digital dictation system and reports using Microsoft Word within agreed timescale.
In the absence of the Consultant, ensuring these letters are sent out, to reach the correct destination within agreed timescales.Responsible for the co-ordination of the administrative functions relating to the admission of patients in to hospital.
Ensuring waiting lists are up to date and theatre lists are fully utilisedAdd patients to the relevant in-patient and day-case waiting lists on the Patient Administration System; planning and maintaining the waiting list in accordance with the Patient Access Policy and Trust procedures.Management and validation of patients 18-week Referral to Treatment pathways working closely with the Operations Coordinator and validation team.
