Medical Receptionist/Care Navigator

Job summary An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Medical Receptionist / Care Navigator to join our busy GP Practice to provide high quality reception and administrative duties.
The ideal candidate must have experience within Primary care with EMIS clinical system knowledge, with at least 12 months experience.
Due to the nature of the job, NHS customer service skills are essential and Clinical Coding skills are desirable.For this position, you will need to be available to work between the hours of to , Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job Administration To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice policies and procedures.
To work in accordance of written protocols Open and direct incoming mail, frank and post outgoing letters as appropriateReception Receive, assist and navigate patients to the appropriate clinician or service in an efficient and effective way Maintain confidentiality at all times Be able to cover all reception positions as necessaryAppointments Process appointment requests from patients by telephone, online or in person, with any clinician Organise visit requestsComputer Register new patients or pass to the appropriate staff member Process patient's change of address using knowledge of the Practice area Manage repeat prescription requests in accordance with Practice guidelines.
Scan letters onto patient records Action practice tasks as requiredTelephone Receive telephone calls and deal with enquiries and messages, book and cancel appointments and manage prescription requests in a high volume, patient driven environmentOther Tasks Liaise with District Nurses, Hospitals, Health Visitors etc as required Be able to work as part of a team whilst having individual responsibilities and maintaining a high level of professionalism Prioritise your workload and use your own initiative when under pressure The above list of duties is not exhaustive and may be subject to change as deemed necessary About us We are located over 2 sites in the Deepdale and Fulwood areas of Preston.
We have 4 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GP's, a Nurse Manager, a Clinical Pharmacist, 2 Physician Associates and a supportive management team.
We are part of the Preston North and East PCN.
