Mechanical Designer

Job Title: Mechanical Designer Job Discipline: Engineering General Reports to: Project Group Manager Business Unit: CT Operations Location: Clitheroe, UK Job Purpose: To design and deliver projects and modifications to meet business and site needs.
Principal Accountabilities: Collaborate with internal customers to develop and define project/modification scope.
Deliver comprehensive mechanical and maintenance design services, including drawings and documentation.
Perform design calculations and verify calculations by others, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and EHS requirements.
Identify and specify engineering items to fulfill custom requests.
Oversee purchasing and procurement to achieve cost and timescale goals.
Provide technical support for internal and external technicians during the installation and commissioning phases.
Scope: Contribute to Hazard Studies, PHRs, design reviews, and project evaluations.
Source quotations and place orders for specialist designs, equipment, and installation.
Liaise with suppliers to gather technical data and support.
Host supplier visits as needed.
Collaborate with onsite customers (projects, production, maintenance, and support departments) to ensure design alignment with end-user requirements.
Develop custom designs to enhance production plant performance.
Serve as a mechanical engineering expert on-site.
Special Factors: The job holder will work on multiple projects simultaneously.
