JOB PURPOSE We are seeking a creative and analytical Marketing Manager who will be instrumental in driving the success of Mining Indaba.
This role is ideal for a seasoned marketing professional with the experience, creativity, and insights needed to deeply understand our audience and clearly communicate the value of attending.
The Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in a dedicated, cross-functional team committed to the success of Mining Indaba and will have the unique opportunity to shape and amplify the brand's reach and influence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, execute, and optimize an integrated marketing plan that aligns with brand objectives and drives delegate and sponsor acquisition, retention, and advocacy.
Build targeted campaigns that effectively articulate the value of attending Mining Indaba to key audiences, including investors, government representatives, industry leaders, and exhibitors.
AUDIENCE UNDERSTANDING AND SEGMENTATION Conduct research to understand the unique motivations and needs of our audience segments.
Use insights to create tailored messaging that resonates with each audience type, enhancing engagement and registration rates.
CONTENT AND CAMPAIGN DEVELOPMENT Develop engaging, high-impact content across multiple channels, including email, social media, website, and paid advertising.
Collaborate with content creators to deliver compelling narratives, thought leadership, and case studies that highlight the benefits of attending, sponsoring and exhibiting.
DIGITAL MARKETING AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS Manage digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC, social media, and email, ensuring consistent messaging and optimal channel performance.
Track, analyse, and report on KPIs to assess campaign effectiveness and make data-driven adjustments to achieve marketing goals.
SPONSOR AND EXHIBITOR ENGAGEMENT Develop and execute campaigns focused on sponsor acquisition and delegate retention, maximizing their experience and fostering brand loyalty.
Coordinate with the sales team to support sponsorship goals, ensuring that marketing efforts align with revenue objectives.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION Work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales and Content to ensure cohesive and aligned execution of marketing efforts.
Act as a brand ambassador and align all marketing activities with the broader strategic vision and objectives of Mining Indaba.
Experience required 3 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on B2B events, conferences, or industry exhibitions, ideally in the mining, natural resources, or investment sectors.
(Experience of working within this events industry/sector desirable.)
Proven experience in developing and executing marketing strategies for large-scale events.
Practiced in managing and implementing all aspects of the marketing mix.
Experience in stakeholder management (internal and external) Experience working with data and developing insights for reporting and improving customer experience.
Degree in marketing or business desirable.
