Job summary Wehave a fantastic opportunity for an interim or permanent Management Accountant/Finance BusinessPartner with immediate startto join our busy and friendly finance team working closely with andsupporting our colleagues across the Hospice.
Main duties of the job You'll play a critical role in supporting the financial health and key business decisions by providing accurate and insightful financial data.
Your work will be instrumental in supporting our Head of Finance to optimise our financial performance, ensuring financial sustainability for the Hospice.The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial management principles, you will be a strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

About us Proudly serving the community since 1987, Thames Hospice provides compassionate, specialist palliative and endof-life care for people with a life-limiting condition.
We employ over 300 dedicated and highly experienced staff who, with the support of over 1000 volunteers, provided outstanding care to 3000 people last year in their homes and at the Hospice.
Job description Job responsibilities Carewith AgilityYou'll ensure that budgets are aligned to delivery of our strategyto Care with Agility, in a supportive culture whilst extending our reach in thecommunity.
To work with partners, wider health and social care teams, andcommissioners to ensure a whole system approach with collaboration and deliveryfor the patient at the heart of what we do.We make decisions based on data and analysis.
You'll provide data to ensure effective andtimely decision making.
FinancialAccountabilityTo work with passion and dedication as part of a multidisciplinaryteam to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely management accounts andsupporting information each month.You'll work with the Executive Team and Heads of from across thecharity to ensure financial accountability.You'll assist with the annual budgeting process, review data(spend and forecasts) with Heads of and produce budget schedules for Committeeand the Trust Board approval.
You'll be detailed conscious and a forward planner who hasexcellent IT and planning skills to ensure the smooth operation of the teamwithin budgetUsing your strong financial acumen you'll supportothers to manage budgets, find more for less solutions and lead a costconscious culture, ensuring sustainability for the future.You'll work with Heads of to ensure that processes such as GiftAid, VAT returns and other financial actions are managed appropriately.You'll ensure the Finance team and Company Secretary meet statutoryresponsibilities including but not limited to the annual accounts and Audit.You'll carry out project work as directed by the Head of Finance Deputising for the Head of Finance as requiredSupportive CultureTo line manage the Accounts Assistant in accordance with ourValues and the culture we set for Thames HospiceTo ensure all communication with people from a variety ofbackgrounds with diverse needs is accurate, timely and aligned to our valuesTocontinuously learn and develop to maintain professional and managerialcompetence and teach others where skilled to do soTo manage conflict, complexity and day to day demands ensuring thefinance team is effective and productiveYou'll be empowered to recruit, engage, and developour people within an inclusive, diverse, learning and collaborative culture,living our values.Extending reachTo role model the right behaviours and ways of working tounderstand ethnic, cultural, spiritual, religious and any other differencesbetween people to ensure our people, patients and families feel included andsupported.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential To be successful in this role you need to be enthusiastic and able to use your own initiative.
We want you to be committed to delivering quality of life, to the end of life, for everyone, ensuring the patient is central to all decisions regarding the provision of their care.
Able to operate whilst being calm under pressure, open minded and organised.
Skilled to use our IT systems for efficiency and simplicity management accounting software, MS Office, but Excel to a particularly high level.
In possession of or working towards a recognised professional accountancy qualification CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
Experience of financial analysis, modelling and budgeting/forecasting.
Experience of statutory accounts production or supporting the statutory accounts process.
Experience of taking an active role in the improvement and streamlining of finance processes.
Desirable Experience of management and financial accounting in a similar role in a small to medium sized organisation, experience of working in a charity or other not for profit organisation is highly desirable but not essential.
