Duties and Responsibilities Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will produce and maintain accurate and complete reporting/analysis.
The role will include the preparation of the following: Management Accounts Producing detailed monthly management accounts reports and commentary for allocated UK entities.
Ensure accruals and prepayments are processed in line with the management accounts timetable.
Ensure all underlying accounting records are maintained in accordance with group accounting policies to ensure transactions are booked into the appropriate departments.
Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with the requirements of the corporate governance framework Ensure intercompany account balances are reconciled monthly and any differences are resolved on a timely basis.
Prepare all analysis required together with comparatives to budgets / forecasts VAT Assist with the timely completion and submission of VAT returns and payments.
Maintain a VAT group, ensuring registrations, de-registrations, name changes are communicated to HMRC.
Statutory Accounts and Audit Be a lead with the preparation of year end statutory accounts for multiple entities Be a lead with the preparation of all schedules and supporting information required for the audit of the year end statutory accounts and corporation tax computations.
Liaise with the external auditors as required.
General day-to-day activity Take a hands-on approach where required, processing entries for all ledgers as necessary at the earliest convenience rather than waiting till month's end.
Preparation of monthly accounts pack in line with agreed deadlines Problem solve and take the initiative to investigate any accounting inaccuracies.
Liaising with other members of the wider finance team Work Skills & Experience 2-3 years of experience ideally with renewable energy or project infrastructure experience The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment interfacing with internal teams and external clients.
Ability to produce management accounts and analysis Experience in Project Finance, Renewable Energy project accounting desirable Experience in an accounting and reporting system desirable Experience of SAP S/4HANA General Skills & Attributes Flexible approach in a fast-paced business which is constantly changing, keep a clear head under pressure Excellent attention to detail when checking information with an ability to recognise and question anomalies Accurate data input essential Keen problem solver who can focus on appropriate detail when solving problems and propose effective solutions Set high standards of performance for yourself and the broader finance team Ability to pick up systems and processes quickly Demonstrate excellent MS Excel skills Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, dealing with different levels in the organisation Positive can-do attitude, ability to maintain a positive attitude in demanding situations Work effectively as part of a team, share information with relevant parties Willingness to take on a variety of duties as required Why you'll want to work for us Our company is a place where you can be yourself and grow; a place where your ideas and opinions matter.
