We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team, on a 6 month fixed term basis, based in our Central Support Office in Lasswade.
Your role will be to support our Finance Team in financial accounting, monthly management accounts, compliance and annual statutory accounts.
You'll also provide analysis and insight to support decision making across the business.Responsibilites Assisting with preparation of monthly financial reporting packsUndertaking month end tasks, such as posting journals, balance sheet analysis and actioning journal corrections where requiredEncouraging the Finance Analysts to think proactively about continuous improvement of the month end reporting processSupporting the professional development of the Finance Analysts through mentoringCoordinating audit requests during the audit process and acting as a contact for the auditorsPreparation, monitoring and reporting of key business and financial controls within the businessMonthly reconciliation of more complex balance sheet accounts e.g.
stockMonthly review of reconciliations undertaken by Finance Analysts, providing feedback on improvements where requiredResponsible for the year-end stock take accounting processInvolvement in the preparation of annual budgetsCoordinating the Finance Analysts to ensure all national statistics reporting is undertaken on a timely and accurate basisPreparation of the quarterly VAT returnSupporting the Financial Controller and Group Financial Reporting Senior Manager with corporation tax, VAT and PAYE queriesAd hoc project work as required by the business Who we are looking for Excellent organisation skills with strong attention to detailHighly numerateProactiveFocussed on getting things right and adheres to processes and controls.Strong planning, prioritisation, presentation and problem-solving skills.Comfortable managing multiple tasks with tight deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills, building strong relationships across the businessExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCan demonstrate our values at all times – we're one team, getting better everyday.
