Job summary This role offers a Recruitment and Retention Payment of £3,500 per annum.Simply Serve Limited is a subsidiary of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, delivering expert healthcare estates and facilities, healthcare sciences, and other support services.
We offer comprehensive 24-hour services that cover property management, procurement, logistics, and more.As a Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanical), you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of engineering plant and equipment within a modern NHS hospital environment.
This includes working on hot and cold water systems, emergency generators, heating, ventilation, and building management systems, alongside performing fault-finding and repairs.
Main duties of the job Conduct complex and non-routine mechanical maintenance.Maintain systems including heating, ventilation, water, pumps, compressors, and motors.Perform basic electrical work as required.Collaborate with maintenance colleagues, ward staff, and other departments.Use and manage the Facilities Management system for job planning and reporting.Participate in the on-call maintenance rota.If you are a dedicated mechanical professional with a passion for maintaining essential healthcare services, we encourage you to apply!

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship or NVQ L3 and previous experience in the industry, together with the required minimum Qualifications of: A Level 3 in mechanical engineering Or an alternative recognised equivalent qualification.
Driving license.
Desirable Approved Plumber Scheme Experience Essential Previous experience in the relevant trade Desirable To have worked alongside other trades.
Additional Criteria Essential Working knowledge of Legionella Desirable To have a sound understanding of other building trades
