Headline details Football Safeguarding & Welfare Manager £32k Hybrid working arrangements (minimum of one day per week at London FA's office - Wembley Stadium; currently a Wednesday) About the Role The Football Safeguarding & Welfare Manager is a key position in our business.
As the governing body for football in London, it is our duty to ensure that all football played across the capital is a safe, enjoyable, and positive experience for the many children, young people and adults who regularly play, watch, coach, referee, and volunteer.
This is our most important goal and without this foundation in place we are not able to deliver anything else.
The Football Safeguarding & Welfare Manager will lead our welfare and safeguarding work.
Reporting into the Head of Football Services and working closely with the FA team nationally, you will form a team of two as you will manage a Football Safeguarding Case Officer.

Job Purpose To support the delivery of The FA National Game Strategy and London FA Strategy 2024-28 and annual operational plan.
To operationally manage and lead London FA's safeguarding and welfare work, in line with legislation, FA safeguarding policy, procedures, regulations, standards and guidance.
To operationally lead the implementation and maintenance of The FA's Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs and driving safer practice across grassroots football in London.
Line manage the Football Safeguarding Case Officer, whose responsibilities include dealing with all low-level concerns and complaints with a focus on timeliness and outcomes, logging these on London FA 's safeguarding systems in line with FA policy, regulations, and guidance.
Refer to The FA Safeguarding Case Management Team (FA SCMT) child abuse and adults at risk concerns, acting in line with the relevant FA safeguarding policy, regulations, and guidance.
Support London FA clubs and leagues on safeguarding matters and issues, to include direct interaction and the delivery of innovative and impactful education and training programmes.
Experience and Skills Relevant experience in a child protection, safeguarding, welfare, or similar role.
Knowledge of current safeguarding and welfare legislation, policy and practice relating to children and adults at risk.
Ability to manage complex policies, processes, and procedures, delegating tasks across teams and individuals to ensure good practice is maintained Ability to develop and deliver cutting edge safeguarding training and education, Clarity about what constitutes poor practice and abuse and how to manage cases effectively.
Ability to promote safer practice and the importance of safe and fun football environments.
Effective prioritisation and time-management skills.
