Logistics Controller - The Role We operate a beautifully simple model.
One side of the process, the Co-ordinators, deal with Customers, assessing their needs and understanding their expectations.
The other side, the Logistics Controller, take those expectations and needs, assess the most appropriate type of vehicle required for the job, from small van to articulated HGV and identify the best providers who can deliver as promised.
Further, the Logistics Controller maintain a constant monitor on progress of the job, intervening in sufficient time to enact Plan B if/when it is required, to ensure the Customer is not disappointed.
Our current need is for a Logistics Controller.
This is a new role for us and is a direct result of our continued growth.
You You will probably (but not definitely): Have a background in a similar Traffic Control role or experience in a related role/industry Have, or be able to rapidly develop, a strong understanding of logistics, vehicle types, geography, legal rules around loads, driver-hours etc Be comfortable negotiating on rates, timings and locations with drivers Have great attention to detail Care about how well you do your job You will probably NOT: Come from a Warehouse background - sorry, but we receive numerous applications from folk coming from this sector and experience tells us that the skills are not always transferable.
Logistics Controller - What Would You Get for This?
Salary - We are thinking around £28-30k plus Benefits and but if you are the right person, we are happy to talk about it.
Hours - 0800 - 1730 based on a 40 hrs week with 1 hr lunchbreak - the role come with on call duties which will be 1 week in 4 and we pay a £100 reward for this Benefits - All the standard stuff plus a few bits more that we can talk about.
