This is a Locum Consultant appointment for the reason of filling the vacancy whilst we wait to appoint on a substantive basis.
The successful applicant will share the responsibilities for: Providing acute nephrology and AKI care in a large tertiary renal unit (non-transplant).
Providing care for a cohort of general medical and renal patients.
Being part of a team of consultants performing practical procedures including tunneled dialysis catheter insertions, peritoneal dialysis catheters, and native/transplant biopsies, and training junior doctors.
Overseeing the delivery of an expanding OP service that includes specialist nephrology, outreach, and post-transplant clinics.
Participating in the referral/advisory service to nearby non-renal centres.
Participating in the renal on-call rota.
Participating in General Internal Medicine inpatient care.
Participating in the general medical on-call rota.
The post is based at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage but includes clinical activity at other satellite sites.
