You role As the Group LPSO within the Marine Operations Department, you will deliver Local Port Services within the Group Port Control Centre in Liverpool.
This role requires you to communicate with Vessel, Agents, Terminal and Port Managers providing information and assistance to ensure the safe transit of vessels through our ports.
To assist you within your role you will operate Automatic Identification Systems , Closed Circuit Television and Very High Frequency communication equipment in accordance with International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities and Maritime and Coastguard Agency standards, port specific procedures and local legislation.
You will follow a structured internal training package to achieve a local knowledge endorsement enabling you to operate at the ports for which you hold accreditation.
You will provide first response support to marine related incidents and accident, working within an assigned watch, on a shift pattern basis.
Support is provided from the Group Port Control Shift Mangers.
What you'll bring You will have experience working as part of a team, engaging other members, to support in delivering the teams priorities and goals.
You will have a track record of excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally through written and verbal communications.
Ideally candidate will already hold a VHF operators certificate.
You will demonstrate experience of prioritising tasks on a daily basis, in a fast-moving environment, meeting deadlines and delivering goals.
You will have experience of problem solving, working through solutions to achieve the best possible solutions.
Ideally you will have experience working in the maritime sector, either ashore or afloat with professional qualifications and experience.
You will also have IT skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
