Job Description: Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Derby Position: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Contract Type: Temporary, PAYE Hours: 37.5 hours per week Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Temporary Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work with a wonderful primary school based in Derby.
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will provide invaluable support to the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education and care to students.
This position requires a strong understanding of educational practices, the ability to work with individuals and small groups, and a passion for helping students thrive academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities: Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons, providing support to individuals and small groups of students.
Work closely with the teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes active participation and respect among students.
Support students with their learning, including reinforcing concepts, explaining instructions, and providing guidance during independent work.
Collaborate with the teacher to implement strategies and interventions to support students with special educational needs or specific learning difficulties.
Help monitor and record student progress, achievements, and areas for development, providing feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians as necessary.
Contribute to the planning and preparation of classroom resources, ensuring they are accessible and appropriate for student needs.
Assist with classroom management, including behavior management strategies, maintaining consistent expectations for student conduct, and promoting positive relationships.
Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students, fostering their social and emotional well-being.
Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues, maintaining open lines of communication to support student progress and well-being.
Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Requirements: Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is essential.
Previous experience working as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly valued.
Passion for working with students and supporting their educational and emotional development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
Good understanding of educational practices and learning strategies.
Knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions provided by the teacher.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to establish positive relationships with students.
Organizational skills to assist with classroom management, resources, and activities.
Successful completion of background checks and any other necessary screening required by the recruitment agency and the school.
