The role: Due to a change in business needs, our client are now on the lookout for a PMO Lead who will provide leadership and support within the UK EPC delivery team to ensure solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects are delivered to the highest standards.
You will act as a key figure in the Project Management Office (PMO), you will coordinate cross-functional teams, oversee project deliverables, and implement tools and processes to enhance project efficiency and quality.
Key responsibilities: Act as the central point of contact in the group PMO for the delivery team, ensuring high standards in project delivery.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including document controllers, process managers, project schedulers, project managers, and engineers to foster collaboration and alignment.
Establish and maintain tools, processes, and guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency in project execution.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by refining tools, templates, and processes to enhance project quality and productivity.
Implement centralised systems for action tracking, deadline management, and portfolio monitoring.
Assist project teams in preparing critical deliverables such as documentation, schedules, budgets, and quality assurance materials.
Monitor project progress at a portfolio level, introducing tools for improved scheduling, resource planning, and cost control.
Conduct periodic reviews of project deliverables to ensure compliance with organisational policies and industry standards.
Lead post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify best practices and areas for enhancement.
Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and project management innovations.
What are we looking for?
Experience in functional reporting organisations with multiple reporting lines.
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a Project Management Office (PMO) environment, and working with international teams.
Technical understanding of Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project design is advantageous.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Scrum is a plus.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in IT tools, including MS Office (MS Project is mandatory) and Jira (highly desirable).
Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with individuals at all levels of the business.
Fluency in English is essential, with other European languages a plus Self-motivated, committed to professional development, and passionate about renewable energy.
Flexible and willing to travel, including overnight stays when required.
