Lead Engineer

Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Lead Engineer join their team.
The role is based in Bristol with 1-2 days/week on site.
The role requires SC Clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals.
Initial requirements are scheduled to run until 31/12/2025 and offer a rate up to £550/day.
IR35 STATUS:  Inside IR35.
Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35.
Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement.
The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS : 19/11/2024 at 11:15 Brief Team Description The Delivery Team on this project is currently being established, initially with two full time Operations Managers and one full time Engineering Lead as well as elements from Commercial, Project Controls and Finance.
The Delivery Team reports to the MLRS Senior Operations Manager as the accountable person.
Main Responsibilities Manage the delivery of all engineering aspects in area of responsibility as defined in the assignment specification or objectives including managing the acquisition safety aspects.
Provide expert advice and guidance in own technical area to solve complex technical problems and identify application risks.
Manage the technical requirements for the acquisition lifecycle stage of one or more project, programme, service or system.
Monitor and implement any governance and assurance policies and procedures to ensure the 'safe & professional' status of the area led.
Lead on the development of requirements related to own area of specialism including acceptance plans, performance criteria and draft specifications.
Interface with industry as the intelligent customer both in a scrutiny role and supporting the identification of application risks.
Essential Skills and Experience Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
Member of a relevant Professional Engineering / Science Institute or equivalent body.
Relevant Level 4 (or higher) qualification or equivalent experience Experience of providing technical advice and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcomes.
Wide ranging depth and breadth of technical experience in own specialism with knowledge and application of Systems Engineering approaches.
Desirable Skills and Experience Experience with working with Land Vehicles.
Experience with FMS cases and working with US Standards.
WOME experience desirable but not essential.
Candidate Eligibility Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship.
Tier 2 – General visas cannot be accepted.
