Laboratory Manager

Job Title: Laboratory Manager Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer Location: Belfast Salary: £ DOE Job Purpose: Tobe a leader with the ARC team, with specific emphasis on the design, implementation and execution of internal and client laboratory IVD or CDX studies, ensuring that client objectives are met and exceeded at all times.
This will require the utilization of regulated experimental approaches to clinical studies, internal and external stakeholder satisfaction as well as an innate work ethic that aligns with the companys core values.
Key Responsibilities: Have overall day-to-day responsibility for the efficient running of the laboratory and the quality of its outputs.
Actively contribute to ensure that laboratory achieves and maintains appropriate ISO accreditations and other standards.
Ensure that laboratory-related activities are conducted in accordance with approved protocols.
Ensure the correct handling, processing, storage and documentation of clinical samples in accordance with the Human Tissue Act (HTA) and other applicable guidelines.
Be accountable for ongoing client project management and budget tracking.
Ensure Environmental Health & Safety standards are met and all EHS regulations and procedures are adhered to.
Foster an awareness of Environmental Health & Safety in the lab and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Line management and professional development of laboratory-based team members.
Essential Criteria Postgraduate degree in biological sciences or other related scientific subject Prior experience with setting up and running a GCP-compliant, commercial laboratory.
Experience of working in compliance with ISO13485, ISO17025 and/or IDE regulations.
Practical experience of working with standard laboratory techniques, including PCR and/or IHC.
Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable delivering training and providing key laboratory updates to a cross-functional team.
Able to work flexibly as required to ensure business needs are met.
Proof of Right-to-Work in the UK.
Must be able to commute daily to Belfast as job is on-site.
Desirable Criteria Additional experience of working in compliance with CAP CLIA regulations.
Experience in regulated product design.
Prior experience working in a rapid growth, SME environment.
