Internal Opportunity: Higher Level Teaching Assistant – KS3 Engagement at Bitterne Park School Bitterne Park School invites applications for the position of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for KS3 Engagement in the ARB.
This opportunity is exclusively available to current staff and offers a key role in driving student engagement and supporting Key Stage 3 (KS3) students to reach their full potential.
About the Role As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for KS3 Engagement, you will work collaboratively with teachers to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Your skills and expertise will be central to motivating students and enhancing their educational experience.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with teachers to develop engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of KS3 learners.
Deliver targeted interventions to address the diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
Support students in building confidence and resilience, fostering a love for learning.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
Build strong relationships with students, supporting their educational journey and encouraging positive behaviour.
Organise and participate in extracurricular activities that enhance KS3 engagement and personal development.
Work alongside colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve support for students.
Assist in maintaining a productive learning environment, ensuring resources are prepared and accessible.

Requirements Current employment at Bitterne Park School.
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
Understanding of the KS3 curriculum and effective strategies to engage learners.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in connecting with students.
Passion for enhancing student engagement and promoting their academic success.
