We are now recruiting for an Electrical and Mechanical Technician to undertake Electrical and Mechanical maintenance and repair work to our network, ensuring all tasks are performed with the utmost safety and effectiveness.
In addition to this as our Electrical and Mechanical Technician you will be responsible for: Ensuring inspection and maintenance tasks are being completed in a timely manner and in compliance with the planned maintenance schedule Ensuring the work tasks follow the correct procedures Carry out maintenance and repairs to West Midland Metro Electrical and Mechanical Infrastructure and equipment including traction power substations.
Oversight of contractors carrying out planned works on Electrical and Mechanical equipment.
Assisting with the testing and commissioning of new systems.
Switching of electrical substations.
Assisting with the development and continued improvement of the Asset Management Information System.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have: A good working knowledge and competence in electrical / mechanical systems.
The ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade C/4 or above.
Recognised Electrical qualification at Level 3 or above.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels within and outside of the company.
It would be great if you had: Experience working in the light rail or rail industry or similar electrical maintenance environment.
Qualified to 18th Edition (Wiring regulations).
The ability to interrogate and program parameters into industrial based electrical equipment.
High Voltage Authorised Person training.
IOSH.
Management qualification to a minimum of ILM 2 or equivalent.
